by businesses, organizations, foundations and other community partners outside of
the Indian Hills Community College Foundation.
The opportunities listed below are scholarships we are aware of and are provided as
a resource for students. You are not limited to the scholarships listed here. We encourage you to search for additional external scholarship opportunities that
may fit your interests, program of study, background or community involvement.
External Scholarship Opportunities
1st Art Gallery Art & Design Scholarship
This scholarship is designed to help students become successful in a career focused
on art or design. Applicants will be able to submit their entry along with a design,
drawing, film, artwork, short story, poem, or literally any type of art they are most
proud of. The winner will be selected by the end of August.

Banyan Next Generation Healers Scholarship
Banyan Treatment Centers offers a $1,000 scholarship to support working students pursuing
careers in healthcare and related fields, including medical, mental health, addiction
treatment, clinical, and social care professions. The scholarship is designed to help
students who are balancing work and school while preparing to make a difference in
the lives of others through compassionate care and wellness services.

Friends of Henry County Health Center Healthcare Occupation Scholarship
The Friends of Henry County Health Center Healthcare Occupation Scholarship supports
students pursuing careers in healthcare, including clinical, administrative, and support
fields. Eligible applicants must live in Henry County, Iowa, work at Henry County
Health Center, or be the immediate relative of an HCHC employee. Applications, recommendation
letters, and supporting materials are due April 10, 2026, and award recipients will
be announced by May 1, 2026.

Jerry Woods Scholarship
The 2026 Jerry Woods Scholarship, offered by the Iowa Ready Mixed Concrete Association
(IRMCA), supports students pursuing careers in the concrete and building trades industries.
Applications are due May 1, 2026, with awards announced in June.

Kennedy King Scholarship
The Kennedy-King Memorial Scholarship Fund is a local scholarship established following
the deaths of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy, who were committed to
raising the level of education for those who could not do it for themselves. Many of the recipients have been the first in their families to attend college. Minorities are encouraged to apply.

Midland Make A Difference Scholarship
Midland Credit Union is offering the Midland Make A Difference Scholarship, awarding
a total of $5,000 to members or children of members pursuing higher education. Scholarships
ranging from $500 to $1,500 are available for graduating seniors entering college
or vocational school, as well as students continuing their undergraduate or second-year
vocational studies. Applications are due April 24, 2026.

NAWIC Founders’ Scholarship
The NAWIC Founders’ Scholarship is an external scholarship offered by the National
Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Greater Des Moines Chapter #80 to support
students pursuing construction-related degree programs or trades training. Applicants
of all genders are encouraged to apply.

Warren A. Morrow Memorial Scholarship
The Warren A. Morrow Memorial Scholarship, administered by the Iowa Credit Union Foundation,
supports Iowa credit union members and their families who are pursuing higher education.
Scholarships are available to both high school seniors and post-high school students
enrolling in an accredited undergraduate, graduate, or vocational program for the
2026 academic year.

Waverly Health Center (WHC) Auxiliary Scholarships
The Waverly Health Center (WHC) Auxiliary offers scholarships for students in the
WHC service area who are working toward hospital-based healthcare careers. Applicants
must have graduated from high school or earned a GED, completed at least one year
of college in a healthcare-related program, and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Students
must also be enrolled in or accepted to an accredited college or university with a
healthcare focus for fall 2026.

How External Scholarships Work
External scholarships are awarded and administered by organizations outside of Indian
Hills Community College. Each organization sets its own eligibility requirements,
application process, deadlines and award criteria.
If you receive an external scholarship, the scholarship provider will determine how
the award is distributed and what information is required from you. Once Indian Hills
receives the scholarship funds, the Business Office will process the award and apply eligible funds to your student account according
to the scholarship provider's instructions.
