The Regional Entrepreneurship Center (REC), located on the Indian Hills Community
College North Campus near the Ottumwa airport, is a Life.Changing. business incubator
supporting startups and growing companies as they transition into professional office,
kitchen, or warehouse space. Tenants benefit from affordable, tiered rental rates,
no-cost SBDC counseling, and access to tailored resources that help them grow stronger,
faster.
Beyond Ottumwa, the REC and SBDC team partner with communities across ten Southeast
Iowa counties to provide training, resources, and events that strengthen local entrepreneurship
and economic development. As part of Indian Hills Community College, the REC also
connects entrepreneurs to educational programs and expertise—ensuring business growth
supports workforce and community success across the region.

REC Building Amenities
Our 10,000-square-foot business incubator offers tiered rental options including private
offices, a commercial kitchen, and warehouse spaces. The REC supports startups and
growing businesses with the professional environment they need. Space availability
changes, but the goal stays the same giving entrepreneurs a professional home and
the resources to take their business to the next level.

- Venture School: In partnership with the University of Iowa JPEC, Venture School provides hands-on
