Which Nursing Degree Path Will You Choose?
At Indian Hills Community College in Iowa, our state-approved nursing programs are considered “ladder programs.” The curriculum of the Practical Nursing (Diploma) program is considered (Level I) of the Nursing (Associate) Program. This makes it easy for students who have completed the Practical Nursing Program to continue on in the Nursing Associate Program.

Ready to get in on the action? So are we! Let’s start with some life-saving knowledge, super skills to help keep patients healthy and some real-life, hands-on training in the classroom and clinics. Still want to do more in your nursing career? Once you finish the Licensed Practical Nursing Program at Indian Hills, you can apply for admission to the Associate Degree Nursing Program. All students are required to complete CNA training and successfully pass the written and skills examination for the State of Iowa. Students will need to submit their Iowa Direct Care Registry CNA card as a part of the admissions process. |

Transfer your AA Degree
Great news. Your AA Degree is proudly accepted by William Penn University, so you can transfer smoothly into its nursing program to complete your BSN. That’s what we call Life. Changing.
Transfer to William Penn after Graduating
Indian Hills Community College is happy to announce an articulation agreement with the University of Iowa School of Nursing which is called “RN to BSN 3 + 1”. This agreement provides a wonderful opportunity for qualifying IHCC nursing students to seamlessly transfer IHCC credits to the University of Iowa, where they can complete their complete their Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) in approximately one year following graduation from IHCC. These BSN courses can be completed entirely online while students are working in the field of nursing. Students can also complete many of the required courses here at IHCC resulting in a significant decrease in cost. Please contact the nursing department for more information regarding this opportunity.
