The mission of Regional Economic Advancement (REA) is to improve the economic conditions of the Indian Hills Region through continuous learning, innovation, entrepreneurship, collaboration, and visionary leadership.” Located in the Advanced Technology Center on the Ottumwa Campus, REA serves businesses and industries of all types and sizes, as well as individuals, in our 10-county area. Advanced Technologies

The Advanced Technology Division at Indian Hills Community College teaches students skills that are relevant to finding a job in today’s workforce. With more than 30 hands-on programs available, there is truly something for everyone. All programs can be completed in two years or less, and many enjoy 100% graduate placement rates.

 

Customized Learning & Contract Training

Our Customized Learning team works with your business to develop training that specifically fits your needs. Continuing Education courses are available, as well. We can also help you evaluate whether your business may qualify to receive training assistance from the Industrial New Jobs Training program (260E) and the Iowa Jobs Training Program (260F) through our:

Iowa BioDevelopment

Iowa BioDevelopment (IBD) focuses on agricultural bioprocessing, biofuels, and bioprocess laboratory technologies. IBD provides high quality training and support services for these business sectors and contributes to economic growth through workforce development.

 

IowaWORKS

IowaWORKS provides employment assistance to those having difficulty securing employment or who have been dislocated due to a business closing or layoff.

 

Lean Services

Personalized training to help you implement "Lean" principles to eliminate waste and increase value to your customers, whether in an office setting, education, banking, healthcare, or on the shop floor. Improve customer service, productivity, and profitability with Lean.

 

Regional Entrepreneurship Center

The Regional Entrepreneurship Center (REC) is a full service entrepreneurial training center and business incubator whose mission is to have a measurable, positive impact on economic growth in the ten-county, Indian Hills region by incubating start-up and early-stage companies.

 

Regional Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Innovation

The Regional Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Innovation (RELI) Center works to promote a prosperous, dynamic, and sustainable regional economy by providing avenues for area residents to develop entrepreneurship and leadership skills, thereby increasing economic opportunity in both public and private sectors.

 

Small Business Development Center

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) provides one-on-one consulting services for existing and start-up businesses in a variety of sectors, including retail, service, manufacturing, and wholesale. SBDC staff also conduct periodic workshops on entrepreneurship and small business planning.
