The Associate Degree Nursing Program requires completion of specific admissions criteria for entry. To be considered for admission to the program, prospective students must complete an application, submit a High School Transcript or High School Equivalency Diploma scores and college transcripts, take one of the following tests: (ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer), have an active Iowa CNA certification & proof of completion of a 75 hour CNA course, and take the TEAS examination. Students must pass a criminal background check, drug screen, provide physical and immunization records. As of January 1, 2022, we will no longer accept TEAS tests that were administered online. We will only accept TEAS test results for tests that were taken in-person.

TEAS POINT WAIVER: Students must earn an overall score of a 60 on the TEAS exam. However, if a student has completed approved general education courses for the nursing program, they may be considered for the TEAS waiver points system:
A final grade of an "A" is worth 3 points, a "B" is worth 2 points and a "C" is worth 1 point. Final transcripts showing the completion of the course must be provided before any credit is given for a class. Students with a course point total between 24-27 are EXEMPT from the TEAS exam. Students with a course point total between 18-23 are only required to earn a 50 on the TEAS exam. Students with 17 total course points or less must meet the score of a 60 on the TEAS exam.

Students must pass a criminal background check, (fee for check $20.00) to check for
convictions that would keep the student from being able to complete the firearms course
or gain employment after graduation.
