Program Information
This post-secondary program is designed for both traditional and non-traditional students. It is online, self-paced within time-frame parameters, and can be completed while working, taking other college classes, or while enrolled in the last few months of high school. Students may enroll at any time of the year. The program includes a 249-hour interactive online course, followed by an 80-hour clinical internship at an area medical clinic.
The online program is a digital learning resource that allows learners to confidently build key CCMA skills. It is comprised of several courses, covering key foundational learning pieces as well as vital competency-based and professional skills. Students will cover Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, Clinical and Administrative Skills, and various Soft Skills to assure proper patient care and communication.
The program also includes a certification exam study guide and practice tests. Upon successful completion of the online and clinical portions of this program, the student will be eligible to sit for the CCMA exam from the National Healthcare Association (NHA), which awards CCMA certification. The cost of the first attempt at this exam is included within the course tuition. Students must be 18 at the time of the exam.
NOTE: Any student under the age of 18 must abide by a background check and drug testing policy. A parent or legal guardian of a student under the age of 18 must sign an acknowledgment of the receipt of a copy of this policy. Students under the age of 18 must obtain notarized parental/legal guardian consent on Section II of the Drug/Alcohol Test Release & Consent for Minors. Lack of consent for testing will disqualify the minor from continued clinical participation and participation in the program.
