TRIO Programs

TRIO ProgramsThe Federal TRIO Programs are educational opportunity outreach programs designed to motivate and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds. TRIO includes outreach and support programs targeted to serve and assist low-income, first-generation college students, and students with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to post-baccalaureate programs. Indian Hills Community College has two TRIO Programs operating on our campuses.

Student Support Services (SSS)

The Student Support Services program is designed to help students at Indian Hills as they work to achieve their educational goals. Assistance includes tutoring, basic skills classes, grants for financial aid, workshops, individual advising, and transfer assistance. There is an application process for this program.

Educational Opportunity Center (EOC)

The Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) office helps lower-income, first-generation college students prepare for college, with services such as financial aid, counseling, career assessment, assistance with college applications (including schools other than Indian Hills), and more. These services are available for residents of a 22-county area in southern Iowa and northern Missouri. There is an application process to participate in this program.
