Laptop Computer Requirements

Here are the machine requirements for students in the Computer Programmer/Analyst, Computer Networks & Security, and the Computer Forensics programs.

	Ethernet card	Mandatory for networking students
Drives	CD-RW	CD-RW / DVD R/W
USB Flash Drive		256 Mb or higher

The software initially required will be:

Windows - Vista;, XP Professional will be available from IHCC Academic Alliance, if needed
Microsoft Office Professional - XP or 2003 Standard; Microsoft Access software will be available from IHCC Academic Alliance
Anti-virus - lastest version
Micro Focus Net Express - requested for third-term programming students only

The 802.11b or 11g wireless card is necessary to access the IHCC network supported by the CISCO system and must be one of the following:

An Ethernet card is usually supplied with each laptop and is mandatory for networking students.

Warning: Any wireless card other than the ones listed above may not work on IHCC's system, even though it may follow the 802.11b standard.
