The Therapeutic Massage program prepares you with a strong foundation for a career in therapeutic massage. This is a branch of complementary health care that works to improve a person's health and well–being through hands–on manipulation of muscles and other soft tissues of the body. As a massage therapist, you can work in medical, spa and health club settings, as well as in private practice and owning your own business.
Upon successful completion of the program, which includes extensive
hands–on experience, you will be eligible to take the Massage Board Licensing Exam (MBLEX).
Need something that allows you to study at night?
We also offer an alternate Evening (and some weekends) Program that is especially designed to allow students to work during the day and train as a massage therapist in the evening. Courses are taken in the classroom and online.
To apply for the program, prospective students must complete an IHCC application, submit high school transcripts of High School Equivalency Diploma scores and take the ACT or COMPASS test. To contact the Testing Center, call (641) 683-5142 or (800) 726-2585, extension 5142. The therapeutic Massage program begins in the Fall term of each year.
