Occupational Therapy Assistant
Occupational Therapy Assistants are licensed health care providers who work with, and under the supervision of occupational therapists, to administer treatments to patients/clients. Treatments include hands–on services to children and adults who are learning new ways to succeed in the activities of daily living. Employment opportunities are expected to increase dramatically and include hospitals, clinics, mental health clinics, school systems, home health agencies, and long term care centers.
After program completion, graduates will be eligible to take the national certification examination for occupational therapy assistants administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
Entry: Fall Term
Length: 7 terms (21 months)
Program: Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.)
The total number of graduates from IHCC OTA program during a 3 year period of 2013-2015 was 44 with an overall graduation rate of 70%.
