Health Unit Coordinator
The Health Unit Coordinator program prepares you for a career in a hospital, a skilled nursing facility, insurance company, clinic, or a health maintenance organization. As a health unit coordinator (unit clerk/secretary), you will provide communication support to nursing service and ancillary departments. You will also maintain patient charts, transcribe and verify physician orders, and process patient orders. After graduation, you will have the knowledge and skills required to get an entry level position, including the ability to communicate effectively with clients, family and health care team members, and to adhere to ethical and legal principles in relation to standards of practice.
