Focus Area: Engineering

EngineeringThe Pre-Engineering focus area provides a foundation for you if you are interested in engineering. You will learn to use and understand the facts, concepts, theories, and vocabulary of physics, develop analytic and problem-solving skills, and apply principles to real-world situations. After completing the recommended courses, you can transfer to a four-year school to continue working on a bachelor's degree in an engineering area and find employment in research, design, development, production, consulting, and technical sales. Opportunities are found in the government and industrial sector and include aerospace, chemical, computer, electrical, electronic, marine, mechanical, mining, and nuclear engineering.

Project Lead the Way
Project Lead the Way is a nationally recognized pre-engineering curriculum designed to help students develop better problem solving skills by immersing them in real-world engineering challenges. The courses all use project-based, hands-on experiences to teach students the key elements and skills of engineering and technology-based careers. Find out more >>
