Indian Hills Community College began its intercollegiate volleyball program in 1998 and the Warriors made two national tournament appearances in the first eight years of the program’s existence.

The Warriors initially played their home matches in the Hellyer Student Life Center on the Indian Hills Ottumwa Campus before moving to the Tom Arnold Net Center. The Net Center is where the Warriors practice, as well as play their home matches.

Indian Hills competes in Division I of the NJCAA. Their schedule includes other Iowa community colleges, matches against some four–year schools’ junior varsity teams, and other schools in the Midwest. The team has also taken trips to Salt Lake City, Utah, and to Florida in recent years.

The Warriors earned back–to–back berths in the NJCAA national tournament in 2004 and 2005, finishing third and fourth, respectively. The program has had two players selected as first–team All–Americans — Jebet Sang in 2004 and Jill Hoeck in 2005, and Olesya Bakhareva was a second–team All–American in ’05.

Terry Carlson coached the past three seasons and Lyndsey Lyon was named head coach following his retirement at the end of the 2011 season.
