The Indian Hills Community College golf team has qualified for the National Junior College Athletic Association national championship in each of the past 29 years. The 2000 Warrior squad won the college’s first-ever national title in golf. The Warriors have finished in the top six at the national tourney for 13 consecutive years. The 2009 team finished fourth at nationals.
In addition to its team success, Indian Hills has also seen four individuals win the individual national championship in the past dozen years. Indian Hills has had 25 golf All-Americans.
The Warriors’ schedule includes both fall and spring tournaments. The fall slate usually consists of around six invitational tournaments, while the Warriors generally play six tournaments in the spring, in addition to the district and national tournaments.
The Indian Hills golf team uses both city courses — the Ottumwa Country Club and the Cedar Creek Municipal Course — for practice and home meets.
