Continuing Education & Customized Learning
The Customized Learning Division at Indian Hills provides services to anyone who wants to learn new skills, gain relicensure or continuing education credits, or just enhance their skills and learn something new.

Emergency and Severe Weather Information
Know who to contact in case of an emergency and be familiar with our severe weather procedures, so you know what to do ahead of time.
The Academic Services division at Indian Hills has your success as its top priority. Staff members are available to guide you each step of the way.
Adult Basic Education/General Education Development (ABE/GED)
ABE includes literacy, English as a Second Language, high school completion, skill enhancement, and post-high school adult refresher courses. GED prep materials help students to earn their GED High School Equivalency Diploma.
Disability Services are provided for students with disabilities who have a need for special accommodations or services. This includes classroom accommodations and adaptive or specialized equipment.
English as a Second Language (ESL)
English as a Second Language classes are available to adults 17 and older who wish to learn to speak, read, and write in English, study for the citizenship examination, or prepare for the GED test.
The Indian Hills Library, with locations on the Ottumwa and Centerville campuses, provides research materials on–site, through interlibrary loan, and online through its research databases. The staff are also available to help you in a variety of ways, whether online or on–campus.
Student Support Services
Student Support Services provides assistance to lower–income, first–generation college students, and students with disabilities. Services include academic, financial, and personal counseling, special workshops, tutoring, cultural trips, and more. (Student Support Services is a TRIO program)
Academic Success Center
The Academic Success Center, with locations on the Ottumwa and Centerville campuses, provides assistance in through skill–building courses, disability services, tutoring, credit exchange, computer labs, pre–enrollment workshops, amd much more. Telecommunications (ICN and Videoconferencing)
The Iowa Communications Network (ICN) is a statewide fiber–optic telecommunications network. The ICN is used to provide voice, video, data, and WAN connections, as well as Internet services that link from Indian Hills classrooms to our County Service Centers and other locations around the state of Iowa. The Testing Center offers a wide range of tests that are available to students, non–students, companies, and the general public. Tests include ACT, CLEP, COMPASS, HiSET, MAT, Praxis, and more.

Academic Advising and Counseling Services
The Academic Advising and Counseling Services Staff will help you plan your academic future, both here at Indian Hills Community College and beyond. Whether you need help selecting courses or getting ready to transfer to another school, our staff is here for you. Counseling Services are also available.
The Indian Hills bookstore, with locations on the Ottumwa and Centerville campuses, offer all the textbooks needed for courses along with a wide selection of stationery supplies and Indian Hills gear. Students can also enjoy the convenience of ordering their textbooks online.
Students on the Ottumwa campus can choose to eat at The Hills Diner or Warrior Junction. Students on the North Campus may eat at the Airport Café. Early Alert Referral
An Early Alert Referral is an alert from your instructor or other concerned person that you may be experiencing academic difficulties, or maybe your personal life is off track and impacting your academic life. An Early Alert Referral helps you find support resources to stay in class and successfully finish. Falling behind in your studies can have a domino effect on your ability to earn your degree, transfer, graduate, or even qualify for financial aid or scholarships. Let us assist you in identifying individualized options, resources, and opportunities to help you succeed. All Indian Hills services are free and confidential. Indian Hills Community College maintains a grievances and appeals process for students.
Indian Hills has on–campus housing on both the Ottumwa and Centerville campuses. Rooms range from modern, apartment–style units to traditional double–occupancy.

Student Health and Wellness
Indian Hills offers Student Health and Wellness assistance to all currently enrolled students. There is no charge for office visits at the Student Health and Wellness Center, although there may be a minimal fee for certain laboratory tests, vaccinations, or medical supplies.
Indian Hills Community College offers a wide variety of activities to appeal to all students. Get involved and meet new people through student clubs, student government, activities, and sports.
