Transfer Pathways

IHCC/NWMSU Transfer Pathway Program

NWMSU Transfer

In continuing to build opportunities for students to achieve affordable pathways to a baccalaureate degree and beyond, Northwest Missouri State University {NWMSU) and Indian Hills Community College (IHCC) have created a transfer pathway to provide a guaranteed admission track if the admissions requirements are met for international students who graduate from Indian Hills with an Associate of Arts (AA) or an Associate of Science (AS) degree.

Participants Benefit in the following ways:

  • Students fully graduated from IHCC with an Associate of Arts degree (minimum 2.00 GPA) will be considered sufficiently proficient in English, meeting NMSU’s minimum TOEFL/IELTS/PTE requirements. As per NMSU policy, students must achieve a minimum 2.00 grade in Comp I and Comp II.

  • NMSU will, for denied students and those international students dismissed for academic reasons from its Undergraduate programs, issue a letter informing students of IHCC as a viable pathway for continued study.

  • NWSU will host an on-campus visit day (transportation & lunch inclusive) for all interested students once a year, as well as visit IHCC at least once each fall and spring.

  • International students transferring from IHCC to NMSU, or applying to IHCC per item two (2) above, will otherwise be subject to the terms and guidelines for admission of each institution and be given no additional preferential treatment with respect to the admissions process or scholarships.

  • NMSU advisors will be available to assist international IHCC students with appropriate academic advising related to the student’s intended plan of study while at IHCC.

  • Students who transfer with at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA in all college-level coursework and a minimum of 24 transferable credits will receive the Northwest International Achievement Scholarship, providing resident tuition discount.

  • Transfer students will also receive the International Merit Scholarship, based on GPA: 3.00-3.29 ($1000/yr), 3.30-3.49 ($1500/yr), 3.50-4.0 ($2500/yr.

  • Application deadline for scholarships is the same as the application deadline for transfer students from a US institution, are non-competitive, open to all eligible students, and awarded based on received application materials.
