SUCCESS Center/Disability Services
This department offers classes to help students brush up on their college skills in a wide variety of areas, as well as providing peer tutoring and a computer lab. Students with disabilities can contact the SUCCESS Center on either of the main campuses for assistance with special accommodations to ensure their academic success. Educational Opportunity Center (EOC)
This office helps lower-income, first-generation college students prepare for college, with services such as financial aid, counseling, career assessment, assistance with college applications (including schools other than IHCC), and more. These services are available for residents of a 22-county area in southern Iowa and northern Missouri.
The main office for this program is located near the SUCCESS Center on the Ottumwa campus, although there are offices in several other locations throughout the area. English as a Second Language (ESL)
The SUCCESS Centers on the two main campuses in Ottumwa and Centerville provide assistance in oral and written communications skills to students who are not native English speakers. Tutoring, computer-assisted instruction, and one-on-one assistance are available. Student Support Services (SSS)
This program is designed to help students at IHCC as they work to complete their educational goals. Assistance includes tutoring, basic skills classes, grants for financial aid, workshops, individual advising, and transfer assistance. There is an application process for this program. We offer a wide range of tests to measure aptitudes, abilities and interests of individuals. And these tests aren't just for current IHCC students; they're available to anyone, including businesses, in the surrounding area.

This office serves all residents of the 10 counties that make up Area 15 (Davis, Jefferson, Keokuk, Lucas, Mahaska, Monroe, Van Buren, Wapello and Wayne). If you live in any of these counties, you can take courses in English as a Second Language, sign language, occupational and conversational Spanish, and cultural awareness/diversity. The center serves students taking classes for credit and non-credit, as well as business and industry and professionals in health care, law enforcement and education.

Community Education Center (CEC)
The Community Education Center (CEC) offers support through education to a variety of groups, including non-English-speaking folks, families with children, individuals without high school diplomas, and others needing training to achieve their goals. The CEC provides access to technology and training in the use of that technology.
The center is located on the south side of Ottumwa at 707 Church Street.

Adult Basic Education / GED
Students who are preparing to enter a college program or those needing to earn a GED before entering or graduating from IHCC programs may enroll in the ABE/GED program. All classes are free and open to the public.
