This course prepares the Certified Nurse Aide employed in a nursing faciity, residential or living facility, to safely administer non-parenteral medications under direct supervision of a registered nurse. This 60-hour course is comprised of 40 hours of lecture and 20 hours of clinical experience in a long-term care facility. This program meets the requirements of the state-approved curriculum. A certificate is awarded upon successful completion of the course.
To be eligible for this program, the student must be a certified nurse aide (CNA) on the state registry. The facility employing the student must write a letter of sponsorship. The CNA must be employed by the sponsoring facility for six months or longer.
