The Expanded IV Therapy program prepares the licensed practical nurse to perform procedures related to the expanded scope of intravenous therapy in health care facilities as identified in 655 IAC 6.5(3). This 45-hour course meets the requirements of the state-mandated curriculum. The course has a combination of classroom, laboratory and clinical expriences. A certificate is awarded upon successful completion of the course.
The student must be a Licensed Practical Nurse in Iowa with the equivalent of one year full-time work experience.
