The Emergency Medical Intermediate program prepares you to be an EMT-I. This four-term program, which starts every fall, is comprised of classroom, laboratory and clinical experiences that provide the knowledge and skills to function in a pre-hospital or hospital emergency situation.
After successfully completing all of the program and graduation requirements, you will receive an Emergency Medical Intermediate diploma and are prepared to take the certification exam. You're also eligible for advanced standing status in the Emergency Medical Technology AAS program.
Students with current EMS certification may qualify for advanced standing in this program and begin in the Spring term.
Students in the Emergency Medical Intermediate program will be required to have a Dependent Adult Abuse, Child Abuse and Criminal Background check prior to beginning the clinical/practicum portion of the program.
