Construction Management Technology

Length: 7 terms (21 months)
Degree: Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.)

Construction Management Technology is designed to prepare you for management/supervisory positions in the building, manufacturing, and maintenance industries. When you graduate from this program, you will be trained to plan, organize, direct, control, and coordinate activities concerned with the construction/maintenance of structure facilities and related systems.

Students who complete the one-year Construction Technology diploma program on the Centerville campus can obtain their A.A.S. degree by completing an additional three terms (nine months) of coursework in general education and management. These classes can be taken on either the Ottumwa or Centerville campus or at any of the eight County Service Centers. Students may enter this major at the beginning of any term upon completion of the Construction Technology diploma program.

If you've completed an apprenticeship program approved by the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training and the Iowa Department of Education you can receive up to 30 hours of college credit toward this program. You will need to complete an additional 30 hours of credit in general education and management courses to earn the A.A.S. degree.
