Work Study Program
The Work Study Program provides an important experience for students at Indian Hills Community College. Studies show that students who work while in college actually do better academically and have higher retention rates as they become part of their learning environment.
Students are awarded work study as part of their financial aid award. Work Study for new students is typically limited to a maximum of 20 hours per week. It is important to leave enough time for students to be involved in the many other activities on campus.
Work Study earnings are paid to students directly twice per month and may be used to reduce the balance on their student account. For payroll purposes, Indian Hills is required to collect several forms, including a Federal W4 and an Iowa W4, for each student. Students are also required to complete a Federal I-9 form, including required identification documents. All forms must be brought to the Financial Aid Office in the Bennett Student Services Building on the Ottumwa Campus or the Administration Building on the Centerville Campus.
Work Study positions are available on both the Ottumwa and Centerville campuses. You can view a list of positions currently available on the campus you will be attending below. Contact the "Responsible to" person on each listing to inquire as to whether the position is open and to apply.
