Student Spotlight: Haley Dunn
Hello, I’m Haley Dunn. I graduated from Indian Hills with an Associate of Arts degree with an emphasis in Business. After graduation, I went to the University of Missouri-Columbia and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business Management. While attending college, I competed internationally, travelling to over twenty different countries representing the United States, competing in Olympic skeet, and winning more than 25 Gold Medals and other awards. An alternate on the 2004 and 2008 U.S. Olympic teams, I am continuing my competitive career working towards the 2012 games in London, UK.
I am currently a member of the USA Shooting Team. I am also a co-host for Bass Pro’s Next Generation TV Show and travel all over the world hunting. I am pursuing a career in television in the outdoor world and working on my own show that will be out soon. I am involved with other production companies as well, and appear as a guest host on their outdoor shows. I also work with organizations such as Women on Target and Women in the Outdoors, introducing women to the outdoors and the shooting sports, and participate as a representative for the Scholastic Clay Target Program, encouraging youngsters to become involved in the outdoors.
I loved my time at Indian Hills. It is a relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to learn and communicate with professors efficiently. My instructors were great mentors and taught me so much. They truly helped to prepare me for the real world. I was given the structure and comfort I needed to continue my education. Indian Hills also provided me with a strong base in business that continues to help me as I move forward in my career. I feel I had a head start going into business courses at a four-year university and I still use what I have learned from Indian Hills on a daily basis.
