Early Childhood Associate
After successful completion of the Early Childhood Associate program, you will be prepared to be a head teacher or director in early childhood facilities supervising others and carrying out educational activities in preschools, programs like Head Start, recreation centers, and public school systems. You also may also choose to become an entrepreneur and open your own child care center or be employed as a nanny. You will learn about the growth and development of children. Their needs, interests, and learning activities designed to meet those needs and interests will be explored. Upon successful completion of the first three terms, you will be awarded a diploma from the Child Care Technician program.
Courses are offered in online or face–to–face formats.

Transfer Agreement with Iowa Wesleyan College
Students who have completed their A.A.S. degree at IHCC can obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education at Iowa Wesleyan College though a smooth and seamless transition process. This will allow those interested in a career in Early Childhood Education to obtain teacher licensure in order to teach preschool or kindergarten.

Length: 7 terms (21 months)
Program: Associate of Applied Science Degree (A.A.S.)
