Focus Area: Theater
The Theater focus area provides an excellent foundation for anyone interested in transferring to a four-year college to earn a baccalaureate degree with a major in theater and performing arts, communication, speech, and theater education. You will study the general history of theater and learn about its influence on contemporary theater, know basic performance techniques and styles, and gain technical and performance experience in theatrical productions. After graduation, you will be qualified to find employment in the performing arts, performance studies, radio or television broadcasting, improvisation, directing, theater management, stage management, lighting or sound design, costume design, and scene design and construction.
