Focus Area: Social Work
The Social Work focus area provides an excellent foundation if you are interested in transferring to a four-year college to earn a baccalaureate degree with a major in social work. The curriculum focuses on social problems by addressing them from various perspectives, including social psychology, diversity, and criminology. You will discuss culture, society, social institutions, and social change, and learn to identify social problems. Career opportunities include direct services, program development and implementation, research, teaching, or counseling.
