Focus Area: Music
The Music focus area provides the groundwork for pursuing a career in music as a performer or educator. Because the usual requirements in a four-year music degree begin immediately in the first year of college, students are strongly urged to enroll in music theory at the beginning of their time at Indian Hills. Students select a concentration area in brass, percussion, piano, voice, or woodwinds, and have performance opportunities in the college’s chorus and jazz band. After graduation, students are ready to transfer to a four-year school and pursue a career in music education, church music ministry, performance, or directing.

My experience at Indian Hills was — incredible! Two of the best years of my life were spent attending classes, working with clubs, acting in plays, singing in the choruses and Jazz Band, making friends, and learning from top-notch instructors.
