Indian Hills Foundation
The IHCC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) corporation.
The purpose of the Indian Hills Community College Foundation is to provide scholarships for Indian Hills students, helping them improve their quality of life and thereby investing in their future. The Indian Hills Foundation provides scholarships annually to hundreds of students, receiving strong support from the college's faculty and staff, as well as from the surrounding community.
The Indian Hills Foundation was organized in 1973 and initiated a district–wide fundraising campaign in 1975. The Foundation provides scholarships to hundreds of students each year. Since 1975, nearly 17,500 students have received scholarships totaling more than $14.7 million. In fiscal year 2014, the Foundation awarded $1.1 million in scholarships to nearly 600 students.
The staff and faculty of Indian Hills Community College strongly support the Foundation. For the ninth consecutive year, nearly 100% of full–time employees (360 of 365 people) made an annual donation to the Foundation, and this year's total is slightly more than $60,000.
The Foundation accepts and manages gifts and donations for the betterment of the college and its students. It also provides appropriate tax advantages for donors. Contributions are deductible on itemized State of Iowa and federal income tax returns to the extent allowable by law.
