Indian Hills BookstoreBoth Indian Hills Bookstore locations on the Ottumwa and Centerville campuses offer all the textbooks needed for Indian Hills courses each term. They also have a wide selection of stationery supplies and IHCC apparel, including sweatshirts, T–shirts, hats, and more.

Locations, Hours, and Textbook Availability

The Ottumwa campus bookstore is located in the Bennett Student Services building and the Centerville campus bookstore is in the Library Building.

Textbooks are available at least four weeks prior to the start of each term both on-campus and online. Please bring your registration sheets and student ID when you come to purchase textbooks. Regular hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, and extended hours until 6pm for the first 4 nights of every term. Hours may be extended just prior to and at the beginning of each term.

Payment Options

There are several options for payment, including cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, financial aid (student loans and grants), and Indian Hills Student Payment Plan. Most student charges using the payment plan are only accepted for required textbooks and supplies. Note: There is a cut–off date for payment plan charges each term. These cut–off dates will be posted in the bookstores.

Return Policy

Textbooks may be returned to the bookstore for a full refund under the following conditions: they are brought back with the IHCC Bookstore receipt, they are in the same condition in which they were purchased, and they are returned by the cut–off date of the current term, or within the first 10 class days of the current term for which they were purchased. The books must be clean and free of markings or erasures. They will be credited in the same manner in which they were purchased. Please remember to keep your receipts.


Clothing and Supply purchases can be returned for a full refund within 30 days of the original receipt. All items must be in the original condition, with labels and tags attached. A refund will be given in the same manner in which the item was purchased. For example, if you bought a t–shirt with a credit card, the refund amount will go back on the same credit card used for the original purchase.

Cancellation of any order must be done by way of written request, and emailed to:

The Indian Hills Bookstore can ship your order anywhere within the continental United States for a flat rate of $7.00 for the first item, and $2.00 for each additional item. All items purchased will ship via UPS. If your shipping address includes a PO Box, and no street address, your order will be shipped via the U.S. Postal Service.

Book Buyback Events

An outside company is brought in at the end of every term to pay cash for textbooks. They will pay up to 50% of new retail, depending on market value. Buybacks are held on the lower level of the Bennett Student Services Center on the Ottumwa campus and in the bookstore on the Centerville campus.
