Memphis: July 11–14, 2013
We invite you to travel with us to Memphis, Tennessee for this exciting History, Civil Rights, and Rock–n–Roll tour. We have several events planned for your enjoyment.
On our way to Memphis, we will stop in St. Louis, Missouri and make our way to the top of the The Gateway Arch. We'll also visit the Museum of Westward Expansion in Jefferson, MO. Our exploration of the city of Memphis will begin at the National Civil Rights Museum, featuring the site where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated. We will visit Graceland and the home of the undisputed King of Rock–n–Roll, Elvis Presley. A Memphis City Tour will include historic and cultural stops, and an afternoon at the legendary Sun Studio and Stax Records — where rock–n–roll and the blues were born.
There will be plenty of time for you to explore the legendary music scene on Beale Street, experience some BBQ and southern dining, as well as visit other museums and enjoy the sightseeing and shopping.
Your trip escorts will be Instructors:
Dr. Jennifer Boyenga and Heidi Peterson
