Fine Arts Trips
The Fine Arts Department of Indian Hills Community College offers several exciting excursions throughout the year.
In the past, we have explored Chicago, Minneapolis, Memphis, and St. Louis, among others, visiting historical landmarks and museums, attending shows, and more!
Be sure to reserve your spot on our next adventure.
We invite you to travel with us to Chicago, Illinois. We have several events planned for your enjoyment.
Our Chicago adventure begins Friday with a special group dining experience at Marcello’s Restaurant, famous for authentic Chicago-style pizza. We will then see a comedy performance at the famous Second City Comedy Club where actors such as John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, and John Candy got their starts. On Saturday you will be free during the morning and early afternoon to visit some of the sights in downtown Chicago such as the Navy Pier, the Field Museum, and Water Tower Place. We will then explore Chinatown and have dinner at WonKow Restaurant, a place frequented by the legendary 1920s gang boss Al Capone before we attend a performance by the world famous Chicago Symphony Orchestra featuring piano virtuoso Emanuel Ax. On Sunday, a stop to Chicago is not complete without a stop at Millennium Park to see Cloud Gate Sculpture (aka “the bean”). Finally, we will go to one of the best museums in the world, the Art Institute of Chicago where you can see such well-known paintings by Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso, and of course the iconic “American Gothic”.
