New Student OrientationTo help you get off to a strong start, all new students, who have applied and been accepted to Indian Hills Community College, are required to participate in a New Student Orientation, prior to registering for courses.

Technology Session: The New Student Orientation also includes a technology session that will walk you through how to use our online services to register for courses, access course materials, order your books online, use your student email, get online tutoring, and much more.

Parent Session: We also have a special session just for parents, held during the technology session, where we share some tips on how you can effectively support your college student, and get answers to your questions.

Recommended Activites: In addition to the required sessions, there are a number of other activities we recommend that you complete, while on campus, including:

  • Housing Tour
  • Financial Aid Application (FAFSA) Assistance

Sign Me Up!

StudentPlease reserve your spot for the New Student Orientation date of your choice by completing the appropriate New Student Orientation Form. Start by selecting the academic division below that houses the program to which you have been accepted. If you are unsure, you can find your program in the Courses & Programs area of our website or call the appropriate division. Then, click the date of your choice.

Select your academic division, and complete the New Student Orientation Form to reserve your spot.

Arts & Sciences New Student Orientations will take place in the Arts & Sciences Building (identified as building “A” on the Main Campus Map), on the Indian Hills Main Campus, (Ottumwa), unless otherwise noted. Please note the specific room location, next to your selected date in the list below. Some orientations take place in the Rural Health Education Center (RHEC) (identified as building “S” on the Main Campus Map).

Advanced Technologies

Advanced Technologies New Student Orientations will take place in the Advanced Technology Center (ATC) (identified as building “O” on the Main Campus Map), on the Indian Hills Main Campus, (Ottumwa), unless otherwise noted. Please note the specific room location, next to your selected date in the list below. Some orientations take place in the Rural Health Education Center (RHEC) (identified as building “S” on the Main Campus Map).

Health Sciences

Health Sciences New Student Orientations will take place in the Rural Health Education Center (RHEC) (identified as building “S” on the Main Campus Map). Please check–in for your scheduled orientation in the RHEC Atrium.

Centerville

Centerville New Student Orientations will take place in Building 15/16 (identified as building “CV14” on the Centerville Campus Map), on the Indian Hills Centerville Campus, unless otherwise noted.
