Answer:

There is a 95% job placement rate for all Certificate and Degree holders.

Alliant Energy, Ideal Energy, MidAmerican Energy, Boggs Electric, Nelson Electric, Trillium Electric, Southern Iowa Mechanical, Ajinimoto, Cargill, Musco Lighting, Southern Iowa Electric Co-op, NCR, Linder Electric, Winger Mechanical, Transcanada, Scope Services,  City of Bloomfield, Railco, 3M, and RBI.

 

Question:

What is the schedule like for classes in this program?

Answer:

Like most classes in other programs, your typical schedule will most likely consist of classes between 9:30AM – 4:30PM, Monday-Thursday! Yes, that’s right! We said Thursday! Indian Hills only has a 4-day academic week! A BONUS!

 

Question:

Are there any restrictions for working in this field?

Answer:

Yes, restrictions are listed below along with their corresponding specialty in this field.

  • Clean driving record and NO DUI’s for utility work
  • No felony convictions for any union or utility work
  • No color blindness for some occupations
  • Some occupations and companies require a CDL
  • Electricians require licensure eligibility

NOTE: there are other obstacles and restrictions, but we emphasize that you have to have a history of 95% attendance in school and/or in your training program.
