Question:

Do I have to be a music major to participate in musical ensembles or take any music courses?

Answer:

No. All ensembles and music courses are open to all Indian Hills students.

 

Question:

Are there scholarships available for music?

Answer:

Yes.  There are many performing arts scholarships available for participation in choir or jazz band. The scholarships are competitive.  You will need to audition for a performing arts scholarship by the end of March to be considered for a scholarship for the following academic year. 

 

Question:

Do I have to be a music major to receive a performing arts scholarship to participate in various music ensembles?

Answer:

No.  Performing arts scholarships are awarded to Indian Hills students in any major.  Students must be enrolled full-time and must participate in music for the entire academic year to receive a scholarship award.

Question:

Do music courses transfer to bachelors programs?

Answer:

Most courses do transfer to Iowa colleges and universities, but you need to check with the specific institution and program you intend to transfer to.  Some schools require a placement exam.
