Question:

What jobs are available to me with this degree?

Answer:

There are numerous job opportunities that include Local and State Law Enforcement, Corrections, Probation and Parole, Department of Natural Resources, as well as a host of non-enforcement positions.

Question:

Is my degree transferable to a 4-year University?

Answer:

Your Associate of Arts Degree will transfer to any of the 4- year universities in the state of Iowa.

Question:

Why do I have to fill out a background check to be approved to the program?

Answer:

Our program has a firearms component and by state law anyone convicted of a felony is not allowed to be around firearms.  We also want to make sure that any adverse events listed in your criminal history will not keep you from being employed in the fields after graduation.

Question:

Will these degrees allow me to take an enforcement job with the Federal Government (example FBI)?

Answer:

Your degree will be the first step in that process.  Federal Law Enforcement jobs require a Bachelor’s Degree.  If that is your future plan, then you will want to follow the AA track of instruction.  This will ensure that you can transfer to the 4-year degree program.
