Your creative future starts with the ARTS at Indian Hills.  Sculpture, painting, art history, drawing and design are the foundation for creative careers in Art, Design, Museums and Galleries.  This Focus Area will introduce you to the topics and courses you will need for a future using your creative talents, wherever that may go!

 

What you will learn:
  • Learn a variety of drawing techniques in a wide range of drawing media
  • Learn to paint in both acrylics and watercolor
  • Learn a wide range of construction techniques when using clay for sculpture or utilitarian pottery
  • Learn how to use and manipulate the elements of art (line, contrast, texture, color, and form) in any medium
  • Learn to see the world as an artist
  • Learn about the styles and philosophies of artists from the beginning of the western tradition to today in the history of art
  • Learn about successful methods of the presentation of art work
  • Learn about the installation of art work in an art gallery setting
